Apple is replacing iTunes on Mac with three separate apps, one of which is a dedicated podcast app.
What does this mean for you? One of the biggest changes is a new list of categories to keep pace with the changing face of podcasting. This added specificity (for most categories) should help you to better reach your perfect audience and make it easier for them to find you. But some categories have been removed.
My podcast on podcasting, Build A Big Podcast, is a real-life example of how these changes can cut both ways. It's essentially a marketing podcast, so "Marketing" is a better category than the previous "Management & Marketing" label. But it's also a podcast about podcasting and the "Podcasting" category has been removed.
